When you invest money, especially blindly (known as "gambling" in some quarters), you acknowledge that you might lose some or all of it.
I guess Bernie Madoff turned out to be a bad investment.

I guess I'm not really feeling sorry
for those folks that fell for Bernie Madoff's investment scheme. Sure, he defrauded people, but he only took money that they were willing to do without.

Yes, I agree that when you invest it is a gamble. However when we invest we have faith that the person they we investing with is legit. He lied to those people and took their money knowing he was a fraud. The investors felt safe, his company has been established sine 1960, and had a decent reputation. He is a snake, and I feel bad that those people were taken in by him. He rates pretty low on that ol Moral Meter.
